Our Training Programs

We offer a variety of training programs to address your dog's specific needs. We typically prefer to see your dog in a neutral environment to get a better understanding of their baseline behaviors and personality, so even if you request an in-home consultation, we may ask you to meet at a nearby park or public place if possible. We will almost universally begin our training or behavior modification by laying a foundation of expectations and bridging the communication gap between you and your dog rather than dealing with problem behaviors directly. We believe in giving your dog the tools they need to be successful before putting them in a position where they can fail.

Free Consultation

Cost: Free

You will meet with me at a local park where I will evaluate your dog and go over your training goals. I will pick the location based on your needs and the issues you describe for your dog.

Requirements: You will need a non-retractable leash and a properly fitting martingale or choker-style collar (this is to ensure that your dog does not slip out of their collar/harness). This can be a backup collar if you are already using training equipment, and I can provide one to use if you do not already own one.

In-Home Consultation

Cost: $20 (+ 1$/Mile if over 10 miles, 2$/Mile if over 30 miles from Matteson, Il)

I will travel to your home or a nearby public place to meet with you and your dog to evaluate your dog and go over your training goals.

Requirements: Inform me of any aggressive or worrisome behavior prior to our appointment.

Private Lessons (In-Home/Public)

Cost: $125 individually, or $100/lesson if purchasing 5 or more lessons at a time. (Travel charge may apply if travel is over 15 miles from Matteson, Il)

We will work one-on-one with you either in your home or at a public place to give you and your dog the tools you need to maintain a wonderful relationship and have a well-behaved dog.
Requirements: An in-person consultation so I have an idea of our goals and can properly plan for your appointment.

Board & Train

Cost: $900/Week 3-week Minimum ($2700)

Your dog will stay in my home and learn foundational skills that will be helpful in their coexistence with you. We will then have one-on-one sessions with you, so you understand what your dog knows and how to follow through on those expectations when they return home with you. The board and train includes 1 private lesson with the owner per week that your dog stays with me. There are some big advantages to choosing our board and train program. Because your dog knows the skills by the time we work with you, our focus during the lessons is on your handling and communication skills with your dog. Because your dog is removed from their regular environment, they are not exposed to some of the same triggers that lead to their negative behaviors. Additionally, with a new environment and a new handler, it becomes easier for your dog to accept new expectations and build good habits. Finally, because your dog is learning in a home environment, we are able to address some issues that you couldn’t if they were in a facility, such as strangers coming to the door, practicing place while cooking dinner or watching TV, and it also makes the transition back to your home easier.

Requirements: Your dog needs to be acclimated to resting in a crate. I require an in-person consultation so I may evaluate both your dog and your goals to ensure this program is the right fit for you. Your dog needs to have a current proof of the rabies & distemper vaccines, and they should be on a flea and tick & Heartworm preventative. I also ask that you provide a clean fecal test within the last year.
